Recently I have felt relatively let down with Cheryl's clothing choices, but at the Brit's she was back on form. With barely-there make up and barefoot-look shoes, the focus was all about the incredible dress. The sheer sleeves give the endless sequins more of a sophisticated tone, whilst the cut out makes the dress modern and very, very seductive. This dress is the ultimate crowd pleaser! The intricate pattern of the sleeves gives the dress a definitive finish but fails to be over the top. It's gothic rock at its best; damsel in distress turns grunge princess.

Sarah Harding's attire is most definitely very bold. The sheer sleeve emblazoned with leaves should look cheap but manages to maintain an element of class. The colour is definitely the best asset of the dress.
This dress would be better suited to an evening meal in the height of summer or running along the sands of a beach at midnight, not on the red carpet at an internationally acclaimed and televised event! However I do have to admit that the red poppies go perfectly with her skin tone and stunning hair, not to mention the red carpet itself!
It clashes with the red carpet but the print is certainly eye catching! The print gives a classic design a modern spin and the simple jewelry means that all eyes are on the dress.
Simples and understated yet elegantly mesmerizing. The best dress of the night. All the tulle gives it a romanticizing feel and an element of magic..suitable for the girl who plays Hermione then!

Camilla Belle never fails to dazzle everyone with her perfectly polished outfits. This dress is no exception. Neutrals are an upcoming trend for the next season, and the shade perfectly compliments her light tan. The elegant folds give the dress an almost Grecian feel whilst the lace cut-outs on the shoulders add a hint of sexiness. The shoes give the outfit more of a statement, with the black popping against the pale hues. The studded bows prevent the look from being too prissy. Miss Belle, you live up to your name!

I used to be a passionate hater of thigh high boots, now I'm an avid disciple to them!
If ever there was an advert for vintage, this would be it. She looks stunning in her mother's vintage dress. The tousled hair dresses down the look.
What would normally be a prim and proper red boxy jacket (by Chanel) is given a rock update with a studded belt and white
skin tight jeans. Fabulous colour choices too, she's practically a walking English flag! I'm also loving the layered jewelry
effect, which updates the look.

There's something about Sky Ferreira that inspires my style. She's got a perfect butter-wouldn't melt doll face but wears clothes suggesting more of a devil-may-care attitude. It's an interesting paradox, and one I find myself trying to emulate in the mornings when I get dressed. Girly pieces, like the above slouchy t-shirt and prep-school tartan skirt are dressed down with a denim jacket and grungy boots. The result is a youthful look I have fallen in love with. I also adore the patterned leggings teamed with daringly high green satin shoes- it should be all wrong, but some how it works. From now on I'm definitely going to throw on some crazy leggings with an otherwise conservative outfit, or whack out the worker boots with a whimsical summery dress.

Blouses have been completely reincarnated for spring 2011. No longer the destination for 30 year old teachers, they have never been prettier. For a 70's vibe go for a sleeveless brightly coloured one, or for classy edge go for a neutral chiffon number that's baggy enough to billow in the wind slightly and hang over a pair of denim cut-offs. Topshop has a fabulous selection:

I said yesterday in the 'The simplest things are the most beautiful' post that Oscar de la Renta's final dress, the shimmery silver one, would be on the red carpet within the next week. And I was right! Lea Michelle wore the dress to the annual SAG awards, but in my opinion she doesn't have enough edge, enough practised nonchalance, the pull it off. This is a dress that on the right person says understated, classy but incredible. It should be worn with daring stroppy make up and undone tousled I-just-came-out-the-shower hair.

Spring, in fashion's irratic calender, is upon us! Cue lashings of tulle and lace in creamy colours from my current favourite designer, Oscar de la Renta. The following are my picks from his latest collection:
Once again florals are a focal point of the spring designs. The natural appearing colours give the dress a summery feel and the soft pleats and flowing hem add a whimsical element.
It's fussy, it's princessy, it's frothy and it should conjure up images of meringues and ice cream. Yet it's still incredibly beautiful.

Previously a colour for the shrinking violets or for those who simply want to play it safe, white was never really an it-girl's colour. That is until this dress came along. Designed by Peter Som, this dress can't get much prettier. The black bow points towards the traditional monochrome combination but the 3d flowers remove any suggestions of mundanity. The aqua shoes give the dress a colourful pop, inspiring an almost futuristic element.

If ever there was a time to turn preppy, now is the time. Jack Wills is the current go-to place for whimsical British Heritage clothes and quilted jackets have stormed the highstreets all winter. Thus, I am on the hunt to infuse a bit of prep into my wardrobe, and I think I have found just the item:
Everyone loves a bit of glamour, and right now its awards season. Cue outrageous dresses, a frenzy of new looks and an array of stunning dresses!
I have a bit of an obsession with neutrals- a possible hangover from 2010- and this floor length gown is simply incredible. Yes, it's minimalist. But the pleats and subtle accessories give it a modern update.
I am fully aware that Anne Hathaway's dress has won heaps of praise from various international fashion commentators but in my humble opinion the shimmering scales on the dress make her look like an extra from the Little Mermaid. Just saying..
Mandy Moore looks pretty in the above dress. The deep colour gives it a wintry feel and the sheer netting adds a slightly gothic rock-chick element, contrasting with the pretty feminine neckline. Overall, I adore it!
How does Angelina do it? Everything about this outfit shouldn't work. She should look like a wannabe Christmas tree that's overdone it on the glitter but instead she looks like a screen siren ready to pounce. Jealous!
Again this outfit has had mixed reviews from the critics. However I think it is an incredible dress reminiscent of a long-lost Romeo and Juliette-esque gown that's pretty enough to look at all day. Scarlett shouldn't be at an awards ceremony; in that dress she should be gazing out over a lake in the moonlight waiting for her Prince.
Hailee Steinfield looks ravishing in this demure number. It screams classic hollywood siren and the chic ponytail gives it a youthful twist.
As you may have noticed, I have neglected the blog in the past few months. Well, neglected is a sad understatement to be perfectly honest. For the past 3 months I have shamelessly abandoned it due to the culmination of exam season stress and being generally busy. BUT do not fear! I am back, and ready to blog! I want to do at least a post a day so make sure you keep checking back here, I look forward to getting back on the blogging band wagon!
