The Simplest Things are the Most Beautiful

Spring, in fashion's irratic calender, is upon us! Cue lashings of tulle and lace in creamy colours from my current favourite designer, Oscar de la Renta. The following are my picks from his latest collection:
Flares are set to be huge this season, and Oscar de la Renta adds a flirtatious kick to his take on the design , pairing the trousers with a sugary-sweet ruffled blouse and a patterned cardigan. Yes, the look is a fraction old-school, but sometimes its nice to sit back and reminisce.

Once again florals are a focal point of the spring designs. The natural appearing colours give the dress a summery feel and the soft pleats and flowing hem add a whimsical element.
This dress is one of my favourites from his whole collection. The king of couture dresses, the ice cream shade and lashings of silky chiffon takes prettiness to a whole new level. The colour reminds me of the sea on a frosty morning, and it's the perfect dress to billow out from behind in the breeze.
Lace is back! (again.) I thought I was bored of lace- it had after all been tailing us for the past few seasons and is so copied its impossible to walk into a shop without seeing some intricate lacy design- but this dress is to die for! It should be a very suggestive dress, but the 'Mad Men' length and cute bow make it more seductive.
Chanel Iman looks ravishing in this divine creation. Monochrome should be mundane yet there is something about this outfit that makes it anything but. It's a fabulous transitional dress that could be dressed up or down; look edgy with a biker jacket or demure with a chic embellished cape; and look perfect in the final months of winter and in the glow of the summer.
It's fussy, it's princessy, it's frothy and it should conjure up images of meringues and ice cream. Yet it's still incredibly beautiful.

This is the one of the most understated dresses in the collection but manages to be one of the most breathtaking and chic as well. The fit is perfect, clinging in all the right places but still leaving an element of mystery and a hint of floatiness. The colour, gradually changing from silver to off-white, makes the skin glow and emphasizes the wonderful cut of the dress. Expect to see this creation on the red carpet in the upcoming month.
